America’s Freedom Festival in Provo Utah

Independence Day in Provo Utah means the culmination of over 25 annual events that celebrate the Spirit of America in what has been described as the “Premiere Patriotic Celebration in all of America.”

This celebration traces its roots back to the 1870’s, or more than 20 years before Utah even became a state. The events start in March and are created to instill a deeper sense of patriotism in the hearts of each person who participates.

This celebration was named as one of North America’s Top 100 Events by Destinations Magazine and the American Bus Association, and is well attended by hundreds of thousands of people from all 50 states and many other nations.

The current organization is a private, non-profit, non-political foundation, that relies on local and state governments, generous sponsors, event chairs, and literally thousands of volunteers working together to create a series of events that last until the fall.

In addition to The Stadium of Fire, a Grand Parade, a Children’s Parade, Freedom Days 10K and 5K runs, a 3-day Outdoor Fair, Balloon Fest, Baby Contest, Carillion Concert, Essay Contest, Speech Contest, Patriotic Service, Flag Retirement Ceremony, The Hope of America Student Showcase, Historic Provo Tours, and Reception, and a Fine Art Exhibit, the Festival honors individuals who have gone to extraordinary lengths to establish and preserve freedom in this country and abroad with the Freedom Awards Gala.

This is an event you and your loved ones will enjoy and remember for a lifetime. If you are trying to decide on something special to do this summer, you really aught to consider spending your vacation in Utah Valley during this event, so you can also check out Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University, and all the activities available to those who want to have fun!
