A major stop on the Wilderness Circuit for professional rodeo cowboys, and some of the biggest rodeo stars is the Lehi Utah Round-up Rodeo. The Civic Improvement Association has consistently been successful in bringing in some top rodeo acts to perform between the competitions.
These early celebrations began early in the 1850’s with the first pioneers in town. They were usually held on the 4th of July, or on Pioneer Day July 24th and included parades, ball games, and picnics. A naming contest was held in 1941 and the winning entry was the Lehi Round-up which recalled the ranch/farm legacy of the early pioneers, and was being carried out by 3rd and 4th generation farmers and ranchers by that time.
The ‘Annual’ Round-up Rodeo has been held since 1937, which means that this tradition is over 70 years old and includes such fun activities as a Miniature Parade on Friday evening, and a full parade on Saturday morning, a picnic in the park, a baby contest, a city Barbeque, and a Family Fun Day after the Saturday parade.
