Timpanogas Cave National Monument in American Fork Canyon, American Fork Utah

Timpanogas Cave National Monument in American Fork Canyon, American Fork Utah sits high in the Wasatch Mountains, and is one of the premiere national monuments in the United States. The cave system consists of 3 spectacular caverns that are decorated with dazzling formations that include Helictites, and Anthrodites, just to name a couple.

The paved trail to the cave is 1.5 miles long and gains over 1,160 feet in elevation to give breathtaking views of the American Fork Canyon, it’s alpine surroundings and unique history, as well as views of the geology of the canyon, and the expanding cities of the Utah Valley.

The park is only 250 acres total, but boasts a respectable diversity in wildlife. The elevation at the visitor’s center is 5,500 feet, but 6,700 feet at the mouth of the cave. Tours are available May through September, and if you are wanting to see one of mother natures most spectacular pieces of work then this is a must see, must do activity.
